Porchlight Home Inspection Services
I started Porchlight Services to better help home buyers and sellers with all of their home inspection needs. I wanted the home inspection process to be more customer service focused where my clients could get a fair, impartial assessment of a home’s condition while also making myself available to discuss and explain any concerns they might have. I also felt it was important to utilize the latest home inspection technologies included in my standard inspection rates so I could perform the most thorough inspections possible. While it is still fairly uncommon in the home inspection industry, all my inspections use infrared cameras to perform advanced level inspections on plumbing and electrical systems, as well as help to identify issues with moisture visual inspections may miss. I also fly drones when roofs are too steep to walk, too tall to access, or are composed of materials susceptible to damage when walked on. My reports are available within 24-hours using modern reporting software, so you can access your inspection reports from mobile devices and online anywhere you’re at.
My goal is to provide as in-depth an inspection as reasonably possible providing my clients the information they need to navigate the real estate sales process. I’ve been in real estate sales, construction management, property management, and residential construction for over 10-years. I understand how homes are put together (and how they fall apart). I’m eager to share my knowledge with you and assist you with all of your home inspection needs.

1. Super responsive: Allen explained what services were included in his price, including a thermo gun to accurately assess our cooling/heating system and the state of our roof. We ended up including this service and I'm so grateful we did because our inspection occurred right around a huge rain storm AND we found out our roof was about a decade older than the disclosures stated, so the thermo gun (or whatever it's called) was super helpful.
2. Accommodating and dummy-friendly: This was our first home and he walked us through each and every step of this process and probably explained our entire inspection report 3-4 times. We felt comfortable and confident. He even joined us for our final walkthrough after the sellers made a few fixes and we had those heavy rains. Finally, he's told us multiple times that he's here for us as long as we're in this house and not just for the inspection. Knowing that we have his expertise on hand is so comforting. I can't say enough about his customer service and will sing his praises every chance I get!
3. Knowledgeable and professional: Allen knows his stuff. Our realtor, my BILs who works in construction, and pretty much everyone else we know who knows anything about homes and home inspections was impressed with his knowledge, thoroughness, and conduct.
